Caramelized Onions

  • Thinly sliced onion, fresh or storage, or shallots
  • 2-3 tablespoons butter


Melt the butter over low heat and add onion. Stirring occasionally, cook slow and low, 30-45 minutes, until onions are tender and golden. Keep heat low, but if onions start to stick or brown, add a little splash of water or broth.
